"Although the vast majority of the company's cheques are produced by our corporate system, there is also an unavoidable need to produce urgent cheques in fairly large numbers on behalf of a number of departments. Previously we had done this manually but we needed to automate it for efficiency reasons. Our requirements were quite stringent as the system needed to be highly parameter driven and had to interface with the external HSBC cheque production and mailing service and internal systems (general ledger, bank reconciliation, pensions review and annuity payroll). Given the nature of a cheque system and the audit requirements which apply, the system also required the ability to assign very specific security privileges to a wide range of different users. Microaid designed the system to our specifications, wrote and implemented the system and has supported us with any enhancements or necessary functional changes which have arisen. The system has now been running for over two years and meets all our needs."
